Last night was Jericho's season finale and all I can say  is what an AMAZING episode.

It had it all people! Guns blazing, hot sizzling love reunited, cool flashbacks, death and sadness.  Truly a wonderful episode for a show that was a surprising and addictive first season.

I never thought I would get this caught up in this show. Actually when I first saw the commercials for it I thought it was going to be dumb. I mean an entire show about apocalyptic America?  But you know what, it really works. The writers have done a fantastic job with building deep and enriching characters, people you really love and feel for, it's got a hot romantic triangle going on, and the storyline is fast paced and intriguing.  I just can't say enough about this show. If you haven't watched it, you should because it deserves watching. I haven't heard anything yet about Season Two but they fucking better renew it or I'm going to be EXTREMELY PISSED OFF!

Yesterday I was rambling about episodic BTVS artwork which for some reason, I always find extremely frustrating to make. God knows why I mean they are my favorite fictional couple and I love every single freaking episode, but when it comes down to making them...I just want to tear my hair out. 

Well I tried again to make one and here it is. I need some serious opinions. Be warned, it's...extremely funky and I don't think I even like it.  Should I trash it all together or work on it some more? 

Buffy & Angel:  The Prom #1

and a new LJ color scheme was definitelyin order. So I choose this one, bright, light pretty colors for spring. I made a new happy--go-lucky banner to go with it and then when it comes time to make a new icon...it comes out...okay.

I've realized and come to terms with the fact that I just totally and irrevocablysuck at making icons.  It is the most frustrating form of artwork for me to make.  I think it's because they're so damn small and it's so hard for me to find the perfect picture. And forget about adding text...because I suck at coming up with good text that actually means something or actually draws a chuckle.  I actually find them easier to make if I make a wallpaper first and then take something off the wall and paste it on the icon...much easier.  I think that's why I've been making so many 'sets' lately:  wallpaper, icon and banner's that are the same. It's just so much easier.  Either that or I'm just taking the easy road and being a lazy lame ass.

I've totally been on an art kick lately and it's been nice.  It's a relaxing switch from writing all the time. Speaking of which it's been so hard to go back to SMSY but it's getting done little by little.  I hate to say it, but I don't know if I have the gumption to go back and finish Punish The Wicked, it's too hard. I mean I'm not in the same frame of mind I was when I started it, so when I read it now I see the characters differently then when I first wrote it.  That's what makes it so hard to go back to it after so long.  And odds are that the characters just won't feel the same.  It's maddening really, because I want to finish it but I just don't know if I can. Plus I have newer stories in my mind that are screaming to be set free.  I don't know we'll see what happens.

I'm off to make some more art.   It's funny I've recently made a lot of Charmed Episode centric walls.  Now normally I don't make those types because I've always found them frustrating to make. For some reason that hasn't been happening to me lately, they've been coming out pretty good so I think I'll make some BTVS ones and see how that goes.  I'll try The Prom first, my all-time cry-me-a-river-tear-jerker episode, God that episode makes me ball like a baby..every freaking time.

I changed Dark Addictions layout - again.  The last one was just to dark for Spring so a nice, and hopefully, Springy layout is posted now.  I also changed around the navigation and posted everything by show, we'll see if that's works any better. I think for updating purposes it will make my life easier  *G*  Anyhoo..there are a bunch of walls for Charmed, I've been nutso with Phoebe/Cole lately, and some Lost and B/A walls.  Dark Addictions

On a personal note, things are just rolling along.  I've been busy at home doing all those lovely spring things - cleaning, storing away winter stuff and of course buying new clothes and shoes *G*

I finally bought a rug for my living room it only took me a freaking year to find one that I liked.  Once that comes in I can finally choose the paint.  YAY!  I'm totally psyched to start painting I LOVE PAINTING!

Now let's see my big decision of the year to make is this.  Two years ago it was mine and Pete's 15 year anniversay. We never did anything because the money was just not there. So now the money is and I was planning a big trip in September to go to Hawaii.  But Pete is not that thrilled about sitting on a plane for 10 hours to get there. So the sneaky boy says to me and knowing that I want a new car...'wouldn't you rather use that money as a down payment on a new mini instead?'   So now I'm like, 'I don't know? Would I?'  Plus I really need bedroom furniture and living room furniture.  So now I don't know what to do?

Do I go to Hawaii, buy new furniture or get a new car?   I mean Hawaii will always be there (at least I hope). But then again that 'new' car will cost me a helluva lot more money then a trip to Hawaii.  And furniture? Do I really need a nice new bedroom set that will at least almost fit all my clothes? And do I really need that nice new black leather couch that would just rock with my new carpet?

I don't know?  Lots of questions?  Let's take a poll...anyone reading this, what would you do?

I won't be around for the majority of next week, I'm going to visit mom and my bro in Calie.  I was hoping to get out two chaps this week but that doesn't look very promising right now.

But when I come back I should be able to post Chapter 27. I'm still working on 28, it is a very slow process but eventually it will get done.

Anyhoo...there have been several updates to my sites since November so here they are.

All three sites have gone through numerous layouts. Ravenous and Wicked Temptations have new layouts now. Dark Addictions I'm working on and I should be posting that either this week or next. Just a note about DA, I've joined the whacky world of creating textures. I don't know if they're any good, but they sure are fun to make *g*. There are some posted on the site now and with the new layout I'll be posting 20 more.

Fiction updates have been as follows:

Lay It On The Line, Book Two in The Promises in The Dark Series, has been completed and posted. All 17 chapters! YAY!

I'm currently working on and FINISHING Saving Me, Saving You, which hasn't been updated since - dare I say it - 2005! GOOD GOD WOMAN, I know it's so sad. Anyhoo...Chapter 25 has just been posted. Chapter 26 will be posted next week, and so on. I'm hoping to post a chapter a week until it's completed.

So what else is new in my life? Not much, just trying to keep sane *g*. Working, hanging out with family and friends, and watching my TV shows, that's pretty much it. Yes I live a very exciting life *wink*.

I will do my best to remember to post future updates here.

So I've just discovered that IE 7 does not handle transparent iframe backgrounds the same way version 6 did. Which sucks because I can't figure out how to fix it!

None of the other variations, either 'transparent' or 'none' or leaving blank, isn't working!

Michael C Hall is fucking amazing as Dexter. The lovable serial killer who hunts and kills people that escaped the justice system.  Gee what a fabulous fucking concept!  How many times have you wished someone would do that!  God I know I have.  Yeah so it's a little vigilante but maybe that's what this fucked up world needs!  But I'm getting off track...so

Dexter's girlfriend is played by Julie Benz, AMAZINGLY!  Rita is a complex character and Julie plays her to a tee!

And last nights episode - was HOT BABY!

OMG the sex scene between Dexter and Rita was fucking smoking! They have the hottest onscreen chemistry that I've seen in a long freaking time! 

GOD YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH THIS SHOW PEOPLE!!!!!  IT'S TOO GOOD NOT TOO!

I watched this movie the other day called Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, anyhoo, it was really sweet and I instantly thought of B/A.  I don't know if there are any other fictions centered around the movie or plot but here is my challenge...or two :)

Okay...so this challenge starts off in Verse -  BTVS - The Gift, Season Five.  Everything's happened up to that episode, with the exception that Buffy didnot fall into a cataonic state in Weight of the World.

So...Buffy jumps but she doesn't die...instead she falls into a coma.  Mentally broken she lingers in her comatose world where everything is peaceful and happy...normal.  She doesn't want to come back to the living, content to stay there forever.

Now here you may go one of two ways...

Option #1:  The Angst Version - BTVS timeline. (Slightly different then the theme of the movie)
The gang unsure of what to do, call Angel for help. Angel comes to Sunnydale, either alone or with the gang, that 's up to you.  As in The Weight of the World, Willow performs the spell and sends Angel into Buffy's mind, where he must convince her to return.  There should be lots and lots of angst. But everything else, including the ending, is up to you.

Option #2: The Comical/Angst Version - ATS timeline. (Truer to the movie plot)
Instead of Angel coming to Sunnydale, nobody calls him and tells him what happens. Instead Buffy shows up in LA as a ghost.  She's flippant, sarcastic and extremely happy. Again she doesn't want to return to the living. She only wants to be with Angel and figures this is tthe way to have that.  It should follow along with what's going on during ATS timeline. It should be funny with some angst.  And like the movie no one can see her but Angel.  The ending, once again, is totally up to you.



Since this is true to the Verse the curse is STILL INTACT and must remain so throughtout the story - including the ending. 

Option #1 Guidelines. Since they will be in a dreamstate, sort of, whether or not they have intercourse is up to you. BUT if they do, then you must come up with a more creative reason besides  'it's a dream'.  There should be a sound explanation possibly given by Giles as to why the curse wouldn't be an issue in the dreamstate. Please - No lame explanations!  It should be original and creative -  otherwise no shaggin!

Option #2 Guidelines. Buffy is a ghost therefore she has no physical form so they cannot touch each other.  BUT the fiction should be heavily laced with sexual innuendos on Buffy's part. A lot of teasing and coaxing from Buffy while Angel tries to ignore her seduction and his own desires. Would love to see Buffy erotically talking to Angel while he pleasures himself. Situations like that.  Basically just a lot of sexual tension between them with some angst.


Either Option - Length:  50-100 pages. Either a stand-alone or chapters. It's up to you.

Beyond me happily typing along trying to finish up this story, I am just totally stunned that Turkey Day is next week! I can't believe how fast time is ticking away.  My Mom will be in for two weeks - oh joy of joy - something to look forward too *wink*.

Well she's not that bad, it's just hard to get used to her being around again.  I only see her maybe twice a year, this time being one of them, so it's always a little weird for me to suddenly have her around all the time. 

I'll be heading up to my Aunts in Connecticut for lots and lots of food. Hopefully I can get my sister to drive so I can include lots and lots of booze with that food :)

WOW!

Firefox I've discovered is pretty freaking cool!   I've been blissfully ignorant in IE land  but no more!  I'm using it at work now and I'll be downloading at home too.  It's a nice change from IE. 

Being able to change the themes of your browser, including colors, is fantastic (and something that I have no idea why IE doesn't let you do, or at least to the extent that Firefox does), and  I'm totally loving the Tab Browsing -WOO HOO!

So now, that I'm working on a new layout for Sinful, I want to make it Firefox friendly and am having a problem with the transparent code in the iframe tag.

Apparantly, background: transparent, does not work in Firefox, it makes it black, so the background is not transparent in the iframe.

Does anyone know the code to use that will make the contents of the iframe transparent in both IE and Firefox?

RL UPDATES

Why I hate Long Island Cablevision.  I could probably write a 50 page drabble on why I hate LI Cablevision. But right now at the top of my list is that I can't get BBC America!   When I called and asked why, they said they just don't offer it.  I know Time Cable in the city offers it, so why doesn't LI Cable? Because they SUCK that's why!  Well they better soon or I'm going to switch to satellite, which I probably should have done already because my hatred for cable rivals my hatred for insurance companies.   When I have to sit down at the end of the month and write that check, my teeth grind and my head aches.  But they are necessary evils, well maybe cable isn't but for a TV Junkie like me it is.

I want the BBC America because they show great shows like Benny Hill and Absolutely Fabulous.  But mostly, because there is a new show on this summer called Hex, which looks like it totally rocks and I want to see it and I can't!   Is there anyone that has seen it? 

Last night on Sci-Fi was the premiere of Eureka.  That was pretty good, anyone see that?  

On the homefront, we've pretty much moved back in finally. Now I just have to do the little things like hang pictures and put the knick-knacks back in place.  You know those little things that will probably take me a freaking year to do. We still have some painting to do and stain the stairs, but that will have to wait for a little while.

Pete's sister and the kids came in from Switzerland on Saturday, well one kid.  Her husband and the other kid are horseback riding in Iceland for a week...nice ah. Yes, it must be nice to be rich and go wherever the hell you want to go. I swear these freaking people do nothing but vacation.  These two kids, who are now 11 and 8, have been too and seen more then I have in my entire lifetime!   It's sickening.  But they're good kids, and it's always fun when they visit. Of course after a week I'm like 'WILL YOU GO HOME ALREADY!'

WHAT I'M WORKING ON

I've started working on a new layout for Sinful but god knows when that will be done. And I'm still chipping away at Book Two for the PITD series, who the hell knows when that will be done either.

It's extremely frustrating when there is so much you want to do in the fandom but RL just doesn't allow it.  I know I'm always bitching about that but it always feels that way. Which I'm sure everyone can relate too.

Well that completes my rambling for the day - at least  for now!

And I'm doubly excited because it's my first Spaith PWP...YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!

I enjoyed writing this so much, I'm thinking I might even make a sequel to this one, so we'll see.
